Import of Materials and Technology
GCC Trading & Technology has facilitated the importation of equipment, materials and technology to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since 1989.
In 1997 this service was expanded to include large-scale equipment associated with multi-million dollar per month seismic crew operations. GCC prepared and processed all documentation to import the following seismic crew equipment into Saudi Arabia and directed customs clearance and delivery to contractor:
- Cable-telemetry, 3840-channel seismic data acquisition system installed in an air-conditioned recording cabin mounted on a desert-terrain truck. This system included state-of-the-art computers and tape drives, line recording boxes, line cables, repeaters and cable-telemetry links, record plotters and all necessary testing equipment
- Over 35,000 strings of geophones sufficient to maintain a minimum of 5,760 geophone stations with six (6) strings per station in operation at all times with an additional three percent available for repair rotation daily
- Twelve new seismic vibrator trucks weighing over 60,000 lbs. each
- An Interactive Field Seismic Processing Workstation System with current state-of-the-art hardware and software
- GPS Surveying Equipment
- All required bulldozers, graders, buggies, trucks, trailers and tankers – more than 80 vehicles
- Drill units, mounted on a 4 x 4 vehicle, with 30 feet of drill stem, subs and adapters
- Air-conditioned mobile base camp trailers used as offices and accommodations for crew personnel which were equipped with beds, blanket, sheets, showers, kitchen and dining rooms
