During a three-year multi-million dollar seismic crew contract for Saudi Aramco, Petroleum Geo-Services (PGS) retained the services of MHS-GCC to facilitate manpower and equipment entry into Saudi Arabia.
MHS-GCC provided the following services for PGS:
- Developed and maintained an excellent network in key government offices related to importation of materials, work permits, employee benefits and local taxation.
- Processed all required documents and personally cleared all PGS containers, vehicles and trucks from the customs ahead of schedule. This allowed PGS to mobilize before the contract start date. These trucks and vehicles did not have Gulf Cooperation Council (“GCC”) stickers on them. This problem was solved through the network developed by MHS-GCC.
- Managed all issues related to foreign contract personnel, including but not limited to, implementation of Saudi Labor Law procedures and business practices, development of a Saudi payroll salary structure, and preparation of documentation required for work permits and temporary Saudi residency.
- In order to advise on new developments within Saudi Aramco and the Ministries, MHS-GCC provided regular consultation to PGS management in Saudi Arabia, London and Houston.
- MHS-GCC was also contracted by PGS to design and construct two large storage facilities to special specifications.
- Facilitated and completed the processing of Visas and Work Permits with the Ministry of Labor continuously since the PGS recruitment office rotated staff on a regular schedule. This service was provided for different nationalities and work specializations. Many nationalities are more difficult to process but all were expedited and delivered in the shortest possible time.
- Every 6 months, MHS-GCC prepared, processed and cleared all documentation required to maintain the temporary import of PGS vehicles, trucks, recording equipment and geophones.
